Testing is conducted by
only Pulmonary Function Technicians who have completed the NIOSH
approved course in pulmonary function testing.
Equipment used is the
Puritan-Bennett Renaissance Spirometry System., With this system, each
applicant is provided a tube which is factory sealed and calibrated.
This virtually eliminates any possibility of cross-contamination and
provides for a more hygienic clinical test. The cleanliness of this
procedure also results in higher employee acceptance.
Testing procedures meet
or exceed the standards established by the American Thoracic Society (ATS),
National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health as well as the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Medical evaluation and
interpretation of test results are conducted by Gerald N. Plost, M.D.,
board certified physician in pulmonary medicine located at the St. John
Physician's Building (Tulsa).
With four spirometry
systems in service, we can test up to four employees every 10 minutes
on-site. Clinical testing is also available at our offices in Tulsa,
Muskogee or Pryor.
In addition to the
clinical results, we provide documentation of technical credentials, a
copy of daily verification of spirometer calibrations and a copy of the
annual syringe factory calibrations report.
