VISION SCREENING
The Titmus II Vision Tester is the industrial standard for measurement of visual performance against a minimum standard for the specific type of job. The standards cover the types of jobs commonly performed by employees in clerical and administrative positions, inspection and close machine work, operators of mobile equipment, mechanics and skilled tradesmen and unskilled laborers.
The job standards were derived factually and are based on the findings of the Occupational Research Center, Purdue University, rather than by opinion.
Those individuals whose test scores fall within the acceptable range are more likely to perform better on the job. The statistical odds are in favor of them having fewer accidents, producing better work with less effort, less fatigue and with fewer errors. The Titmus II Vision Standards for jobs may be used with confidence.
Over ninety percent of all individuals in the average commercial or industrial plant who fail to meet the appropriate Titmus II Vision Standard for the job can have their visual performance brought up to the desired level through professional ophthalmic services. This improvement in vision can result directly in increased productivity and job satisfaction, fewer accidents and errors.
Employee test results are reported on individual reports which list those areas where the Job Class Standard was met or exceeded. Specific areas which did not meet the standard of the job function are also noted for reference.
